Colour, gesture, mark making and abstraction- this course has got it all!

Join Kim Scouller for a fantastic journey through drawing and painting portrait inspired by the legendary Matisse and American colourist Richard Diebenkorn.

Working with a mixture of self portrait and from the model, Kim will lead you week by week through and range of mediums and approaches- all of which will help to develop your confidence with handling materials and using colour.

Week one will begin with self portraiture, drawing and brush work in ink, moving into tonal painting from the model in week two. Week three will move through colour in shadows via complementary colours full colour palette Fauvism, then colour and composition using a full colour palette, considering placement and shapes of colour in week four.

This course is packed with demonstrations and guided painting, with group feedback and opportunities to show your work and get personalised tips and advice- a great chance to build your portrait painting language!

Suitable for all levels of ability- some drawing experience is ideal but not essential-
