Join Josie Deighton for a fast paced contemporary figurative watercolour course which with inject your painting with electricity!

The key to successful watercolour is confidence in handling paint and we will be hitting that sweet-spot between freedom and control through four sessions of explorative painting – using a combination of watercolour with complementary mixed media to create dynamic paintings that you can easily take into the life room and apply to your studio practice.

We will look at mixed media approaches and techniques with watercolour- using wax, highlighter, coloured pencil, ink and masking fluid as well as specific paint handling techniques, such as dry brushing, wet on wet, how to work in and lift out sections. Sessions will be demonstration lead- with lots of interaction and feedback at multiple stages throughout each session.

This course could complement your existing watercolour practice or be an introduction to the medium. It is accessible for everyone from beginner to intermediate. The class sizes are small and informal allowing for questions and checking in as we go along.

Sessions are recorded allowing for playback and pausing should you miss a session or a section.
