MUSEUM SKETCH- AT THE V&A CAST COURTS WITH ARTIST RACHEL MERCER

Iconic sculpture and expressive vibes! Join us for a portrait sketching workshop with a difference as we seek out faces of the past in the epic V&A Cast Courts with London Drawing tutor and figurative artist – the brilliant Rachel Mercer.

We will be going on a drawing safari around the iconic cast courts at the Victoria and Albert Museum- exploring sculptural and architectural drawing, considering composition, description of light and expressive mark making to describe physical space. The cast courts are an incredible resource and a superb environment for drawing – a great space for drawing development and exchange!

The V&A Cast Courts are treasure trove of characters- both human and animal- and in this workshop we will apply observational drawing and gestural markmaking to create expressive and engaging portrait drawing. Work with expressive drawing techniques and simple mediums to create strong portraits which will bring your drawing and the sculptures to life.
