Use self massage as a great way to engage your creative energy before and after drawing – the perfect way to get in touch with your body and de-stress during lock down
Nick Torry is a professional massage therapist from south east London – practicing Raynor Deep Tissue Massage and Japanese Acupressure Chair Massage. Nick is also an enthusiastic Life Drawing fan in his spare time and has attended our life classes over several years – so understands the process of drawing. Nick @nick.torry.massage is collaborating with London Drawing on a series of short self massage clips on our social media feeds- all of which you can practise at home as a way of de-stressing and tuning in to your creativity during lock down. In return we are featuring Nicks self massage sessions on our listings- take a look at what he does via the links below!
How to use our taster clips and what to expect:
In Nick’s warm-up session clips you will loosen and release tension in the hand, arm and shoulder so they are relaxed, mobile and ready to draw. You will also release tension from the face where we might clench and hold tension in concentration. Furthermore, by activating and enlivening the nervous system, communication can become more direct and mindful between what the eyes are seeing and what the hand is drawing.
You can learn more about Nick’s work and book into his hour-long self-massage sessions via the following links.
Nick is available for bookings with private clients and also for Japanese Acupressure Chair Massage for businesses and events.
