learn from artists to build your portrait painting language with the award winning Kim Scouller

Explore traditional and contemporary approaches to creating portraits working from live model set-ups with a different inspiring model for every session. Each week we will look at different artists to gain insights into their working practices and work with a theme to then inspire our own paintings. Our models will help bring to life portraits by master artists and allow us to immerse ourselves in their world.

Themes include creating mood through colour, simplifying the complexity of the head, the language of paint and how fashion places people in the now.

Expect lots of live demos and encouraging student feedback from Kim who will work alongside the class giving tips and other useful information.

Suitable for those who have some previous drawing and painting experience.
