Powerful women and strong narratives!

We are really excited to announce a special new Summer School with artist Rachel Mercer- exploring painting and its potential for narrative in more depth- and we are especially excited as we will have a very special model collaborating with us for this course. Anna, who will be travelling from Tel Aviv to join us, is a superb international model- with incredible emotional depth and expression. We will be exploring painting with Paula Rego, Alice Neel and Frida Khalo firmly in mind – and exploring the model with their surroundings, objects, potential for symbolism, light and space.

Work with dynamic poses and props to create simple narratives and imagery – consider composition and how simple props can influence your imagery in this very creative painting workshop- create strong painting no matter what your experience!

You will learn everything you need to know about working from the life model in oils and acrylics whatever your ability.

This workshop is packed full of practical tips to create strong, confident paintings- with loads of tuition and demonstrations to show you how to get started.

Great for pushing your drawing and painting in a different direction and building confidence in your creative capability.
