STAMP MAKING – PRINTMAKING AT HOME This mini course will be led by the brilliant artist and print maker Sisetta Zappone- Make your own unique stamps and learn multi-print techniques to use them in a wide variety of ways Stamps can be the foundation of many types of art making from fabric printing, to book making to cards and posters You will begin to develop the skill to see shapes and shadows that create compelling designs. Sisetta will walk us through a range of techniques and approaches with lots of tips and insights into the print making process- all of which can be translated into your drawing practice  and a great complement to our other classes and workshops! You will be working from a range of subject matter- such as still life and photo references- whatever interests you. Suitable for all levels of ability Stamp Making: Print Making at Home Two evenings: Tuesdays 27 April & 4 May 2021 6.30-8.30pm GMT £35 Materials not included- week 1 – Throw back printing method Do you remember the potato printing when you were a kid? Well… time to dust off that skills!!!! Get experimental and carve out some recycled materials… The advantage is the they will last longer than potatoes, so you can go printing pattern crazy!!! we know well that most of our on-line purchase often come with a lot of packing/wrapping/padding for example polystyrene or spongy plastic   SUGGESTED MATERIALS -Household square sponge sheet/yellow sponge/craft foam or sponge -Polystyrene padding recycled left overs or spongy polivynil -Recycled coffee tin or cardboard tube -Cutting mat – Decoration knives/ blades/ cutters -Scissors -Pva glue/craft glue -Tissue paper or tracing paper -Permanent marker – A variety of paper card or fabric to experiment printing -Block-print ink/stamp ink pad *hobbycraft has a wide selection of colors for £1 each If you are willing to produce stamps, blocks or design hat will be long lasting if printed on fabric you could use -Oil based intaglio ink -Acrylic paint mixed 50/50 with Daler Rowney System 3 Textile Medium For Screen Printing 250ml   WEEK 2 Make a sturdy reusable print block/rubber stamp 1. Start with an image, letterhead or pattern which is suitable to become a stamp 2 Trace the design so if needed you can flip or reverse it 3 Carefully carve the block around the parts of the design you want inked 4Stick your stamp template on a wood block to make it sturdy 5 Experiment printing your design on a variety of materials combining different inks SUGGESTED MATERIALS Essede sells a stamp making kit that will set you off on the basics of lino cut printmaking skills The kit contains: Lino tools and baren Ink pad in two colours Large helix rubber stamps/round rubber mini-block if you have attended lino cut course with us in the past, then all you need for experimenting is a -Lino block left over, or a fresh mini block or rubber block -Your set of lino cut tools and knives -Pva glue/craft glue -Tissue paper or tracing paper -Permanent marker – A variety of paper card or fabric to experiment printing -Block-print ink/ stamp ink pad *hobbycraft has a wide selection of colors for £1 each If you are willing to produce stamps, blocks or design hat will be long lasting if printed on fabric you could use -Oil based intaglio ink -Acrylic paint mixed 50/50 with Daler Rowney System 3 Textile Medium For Screen Printing 250ml
