AQUATINT SECRETS WORKSHOP
This course is suitable for both beginners looking for a new playful approach to a traditional technique and for experienced printmakers looking to develop creative methods and skills in their etching practice.
Cooking salt, magic markers and lipstick offer curious twists to traditional Aquatint. This course covers the application of these alternatives to stop out varnish.
You will learn a range of alternative and unconventional techniques and create your own prints using unexpected substances and medias, gaining a lot of confidence in your printmaking practice. As part of the teaching of the day you will observe the artwork of old and new masters on this technique (Goya, Southerland)
You will take your plate and prints home.
You are more than welcome to bring along your sketchbook and re-invent one of your drawings. All the materials are included in the course fee.
Please note there is not kitchen facilities in the studio, but nearby there are both supermarkets and cafes. The studio is between Brixton and Laugborough junction.
